Cysoni is a flat fee with no per-item charges within fair use. To keep that sustainable, we ask that usage stays within a fair guideline. For almost every practice it will — you'll never think about this. It only matters for genuinely unusual volumes.
Our pricing is deliberately simple: one flat fee per practice, with no per-document, per-query or overage charges. That model works because the vast majority of clients process a normal, predictable volume of paperwork. A fair usage guideline keeps that flat price viable for everyone and stops a handful of very high-volume accounts driving costs up for the rest.
Fair usage is an average of 200 documents per connected client inbox, per calendar month, assessed across your account rather than inbox-by-inbox. So a quiet client and a busier client average out — an occasional spike is completely fine, and you don't need to track this yourself.
A "document" means a single invoice or receipt that Cysoni captures and processes. A page of a bank statement also counts as one document towards the guideline. Ordinary email that isn't an invoice, receipt or statement doesn't count, and isn't stored.
The MTD-only plan is intended for non-VAT-registered sole traders and landlords with low document volumes. It covers a single inbox and the same 200-document monthly guideline applies. If a client on this plan consistently runs well above that, it's a sign they've outgrown it, and we'll suggest the right practice plan.
We'll never cut you off without warning. If we notice an account is consistently above the fair usage guideline, we'll get in touch and look at moving you to a more suitable tier, or agreeing a bespoke price going forward — whatever genuinely fits your volume.

There are no other surprise charges, and we'd always rather move you to a better-value plan than leave you paying overage month after month.
To keep the service fair and secure, the account should be used as intended: connecting your own clients' inboxes for bookkeeping. It should not be used to resell or sub-licence the service, to connect large numbers of unrelated inboxes, or in any way that places an unreasonable load on the platform or risks its stability or security.
