Your accountant uses Cysoni to collect your invoices and receipts automatically — so you don't have to forward, post or hand over a shoebox of paperwork. Here's how it works, and why it's safe.
There are two ways to get your paperwork to your accountant through Cysoni — connecting your email inbox, or snapping photos on your phone. You can use either, or both. It takes a couple of minutes to set up and then runs in the background.
"It reads your inbox to find invoices and receipts — and you can snap paper ones on your phone — then sends them to your accountant's system for you. It's read-only, so it can't send, reply to, delete or change anything in your email, and you can switch it off any time."
This is the part most people want to know first. When you connect your inbox, you approve read-only access through your email provider's own secure sign-in. You never share your password, and Cysoni cannot:
It looks for invoices and receipts and nothing else. Ordinary email that isn't an invoice or receipt is ignored and never stored. You can disconnect at any time — from the link your accountant sent, or directly in your email provider's security settings — and processing stops immediately.
Your accountant will email you a secure link. Open it on a phone or computer.
You'll sign in with Google (Gmail) or Microsoft (Outlook / Microsoft 365) using their own secure screen — not a Cysoni page. Approve read-only access when asked.
From that moment on, new invoices and receipts arriving in your inbox are picked up automatically. There's nothing else to do.
For paper receipts, or anything not in your email, use the camera capture link.
Open the link your accountant sent. On the browser menu choose "Add to Home Screen" — it then sits like an app, one tap away, with no login to remember.
Tap to snap the receipt, or upload a PDF or photo you already have.
It goes straight to your accountant. You don't need to label or sort anything — Cysoni reads the supplier, date and amount for them.
Cysoni captures the invoice or receipt, reads the key details (supplier, date, amount, VAT), and passes them to your accountant's accounting software. The document itself is then removed, and only a short record that it was processed is kept — a logbook, not a copy of your mail. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Access is read-only and limited to finding invoices and receipts. Cysoni can't send, delete or change anything, and it doesn't store your ordinary, non-accounting email. Connection uses your provider's own secure sign-in, so your password is never shared.
By default it starts from the moment you connect and works forward. A one-off scan of past email is optional and only happens if your accountant arranges it with you.
Ask your accountant to disconnect your inbox, or revoke access yourself in your email provider's security settings (Google or Microsoft account → connected apps). Processing stops straight away.
Just take another. Send the clearest version; if a figure is unreadable your accountant will spot it in their review and can ask you.
